Muscle spasms

Muscle spasms, also known as muscle cramps, are involuntary and sudden contractions of one or more muscles. These contractions can range from mild discomfort to intense pain and typically last for a few seconds to several minutes. Muscle spasms can occur in any part of the body and are often caused by various factors, including dehydration, muscle fatigue, electrolyte imbalances, and overexertion during physical activity. They can also be a symptom of underlying medical conditions such as muscle disorders, nerve compression, or metabolic imbalances. While muscle spasms are usually harmless and resolve on their own, they can be quite uncomfortable. Managing them often involves gentle stretching, staying hydrated, and addressing any underlying causes. In some cases, medical intervention may be necessary to alleviate chronic or severe muscle spasms.
